Citizens of West Bend, Meet Gawker!

The immensely popular (and snarky) blog, Gawker, has a post today on the WB library kerfuffle, focusing on this blog's battles with Ginny in a post titled: Small-Town Wisconsin Has Its Own Blog Wars, Thank You Very Much.

Wow.

And I'll try to take Gawker's advice to ease up on "obsessively reblogging crazy Ginny".

  2. Holy cow did ya see the paper today? I just read it online. This will heat up the blogs again. Just when media wise locally things were quieting down a bit SLAM! Here we go again. Ya think it was intentional to keep the paper in business. joking

  3. You know whats really annoying about this? I love Wisconsin. Love it. I am a born and bred New Yorker, yet I find myself here and love it. But with all of this, I am forced to defend my fine state against charges of book burning. Ginny's crew can call it waht they want, but it is censorship, and the rest of the world knows it. We look like back woods idiots. I don't understand what is so hard about going to the library, picking up a book, reading it and deciding if it is ok for your child. Isn't that what parenting is all about? Its not difficult. If you don't have time, read the reviews online. If that doesn't give you want you think you need, many religious websites do book reviews specifically for young adult books. It's really not hard.
